((JUST LISTEN))

11:17 AM

Hello,
I thought beings nothing is going on with me that some of you could share what's going on with you. ... if you wanna.
It's friday. I'm going to the Largo tonight. I haven't been in a very long time. mainly because I'm so over the whole waiting in line for 2 hours just to have people in front of you let their friends in and you end up in the back anyway. There is no point in waiting in line, really. I mean the people that come in later always stand in front of you anyway while you are sitting in a chair at the bar. I used to do this all the time and I didn't mind for some reason. I don't know what has changed, nothing really. I guess it's just my attitude.
A friend of mine told me that I had to go see this guy Daniel Lanois so I am really curious about him. I've seen his name and I he has been playing around a lot. He will be at Spaceland on Tuesday. I'll go check him out. I was told "watch out Jon Brion, here comes Daniel" so I must go see for myself.

I've been watching that new show called 'Love Monkey', and of course I love it! First of all it has Tom Cavanagh ("Ed") in it. His character in Love Monkey is perfect for him, a passionate A&R guy who knows everything about music. He discovers this kid "Wayne Jensen" his real name is Teddy Geiger and he's a real musician, amazing voice I might add! esp. for a 16 yr old! He's also on myspace!
ps - does anyone remember the show square pegs?
it just popped in my head 'the song', and i just remembered that sarah jessica parker was the lead chick in it. .... hmmm LOL

So how about them Golden Globes huh....?
Adrian Brody is hott! Scarlett Johansson is too beautiful!
I didn't see any really shocking dresses this year.

I thought Gwyneth looked beautiful in her white dress. She has that baby glow about her.
The press didn't seem to like her look. I have to agree with them on the fake-brit accent, she's always done that though.
I loved all of Greys Anatomy folks and the Lost people. Great great shows!

This weekend I was in my best friends wedding. It was a lot of fun. The room was full of a lot of good old friends from the past. It was great to hang and talk with everyone.
I've known Sandy and Dave for over 15 years, Sandy longer. I introduced them back in the 90's and now they are married. I'm really glad that they have joined forces because I love them both and Dave's family is really cool. They will both be in my life forever. I love our circle of friends even though we all don't see each other all the time, it's just nice to know that you have friends whom you have known for a very long time. It does mean a lot. The reception was a blast filled with dancing and pretty good music. The DJ was excellent! After Andy ( the best man/brother of the groom) did his speech, I did mine. We were both super nervous but felt we needed to do it and get it over with. Thanks to Andy's wife; Kim, who encouraged us and made us feel as calm as she could before and after the readings!

I'd like to do the whole reception over again; i would have given that cute bartender my phone number, i would have danced more and most of all i would have talked to more people.

I was lazy and slept all day and night on Sunday, it was nice. My birthday fell on Martin Luther King Jr day yesterday. Time sure does fly. My mom took me to the Fish Company for lunch then we hit a movie. Thank you for all the calls and e-mails, that made my day!

Here is some upcoming gigs for the month:
19th Thursday John Doe presents Starring Peter Case at Largo
20th
Friday Altamont (Dale Crover of The Melvins) at Alex's Bar or Sabrosa Purr at Molly Malones
21st
Saturday Warlocks at Spaceland or Glen Phillips at Largo
22nd
Sunday Sons and Lovers at Spaceland (free)
26th Thursday John Doe presents Grant Lee Phillips at Largo

I had a crazy dream over the weekend. I woke up at 5:47am on Saturday morning thinking I felt my whole bed shake then It felt as though we were having an earthquake, I felt the house sinking. I was fighting to wake up to turn the news on. I did and of course nothing was on the news about any earthquakes anywhere.
I often dream of death and destruction, i don't know why.
right now i'm listening to this band called The Giraffes. I love them! song number 5 is called "having fun" and it says "having fun with assholes", it's a very catchy tune!

Everyone has issues but I’m thinking life is too short to have to deal with anything that makes you feel useless, bad, unhappy, angry or negative in any way what so ever.
Well, that pretty much leaves me to my own vices.

I've been thinking about finding a new gig. If an opportunity came up for me on the East coast, I'd so just pack up and go. (hint hint - eric)
I'm not "hating" right now, just thinking that's all.

Warm Summer-like night...

I love this weather. I feel as though nothing can bring be down.
Last night around 7pm I did a post on myspace to all my friends "hey, it's nice out- let's get a drink" and I got two responses but by that time it was getting late and I was already chillin'.

I think it's going to be the same tonight. I have some options to go to a country bar in long beach (me-no-dance) but i'll drink and watch with my friends who are going. Or I can go see Nebula at Alex's bar also in Long Beach.

January third two thousand and six! wow!
I've done absolutely nothing last year. It was another year wasted.
I get older and the years just seem to slid on by unnoticed.

I've been down a lot lately, mostly stressed from work and apartment hunting. The main thing that triggered my mood is not having my jeep..... actually that's where I do 90% of my music listening and without that, man 'o man! It sucks! I haven't really listened to music in over a month and to me that is one of the most depressing thoughts ever. I'm slowly getting back into it. Though I've come to the conclusion (for the time being) that It's not that important for me to go see bands anymore. SHOCK!! I know, I know!
I've gone without it for over a month and when I have gone lately, I'm just not that impressed anymore. I'm kind of 'over it'. Have I said that in the past? perhaps.
Maybe I'm growing up but I don't think growing up has anything to do with going to see bands or not. I bet it's just a faze.
I've been listening to Green Day a lot. American Idiot is a great album!
I am looking forward to The Dirtbombs! They are so much fun live! I'm giddy just thinking about the last time I saw them at The Knitting Factory. This time they are playing at the Troubadour! I can't imagine how they are going to fit 2 drum sets on stage.
Oh and Jeff Tweedy is playing 2 nights at the Fonda Theatre but it's Ticketbastards only! that blows! I love Jeff and Wilco so much but I just don't want to give in to those kinds of stupid unvalidated service charges.

Let's see.... on New Years Eve I babysat the cutest kid ever while his parents went out to dinner. His name is
Christian Modica. We had so much fun. Kids are amazing at 1 years old. He is into clapping and listening to music right now. It was so cute, we were watching Seseme Street and The Goo Goo Dolls were on doing a edited song for children of course and Christian sat in his little chair swaying to the music. So adorable! I can't wait to teach him how to play the drums! I'm sure his dad will teach him the guitar soon.

I'm finally not sick anymore. That really sucked to have all that time off and only layed in bed with a temp. of 101.9. Over the weekend I saw a few movies: Geisha Girl and Syriana. I loved Geisha Girl but didn't understand what was going on in Syriana, I only knew that it was sad when the people got blown up.
